Internationally known as Alexandros Hahalis or simply as Alexandros, considered by many to be among the most important Greek artists.
Theatrical composer, performer and poet. His work is timeless, primordial, progressive, revolutionary, epic and satirical. He studied classical composition at the Aaron Copland School in New York, where he lived and created for 21 years, 1980-2001.
He has composed for renowned sculptors & painters (Spyropoulos, Stamos, Walderedo De Oliveira), has performed in collaboration with major organizations and festivals worldwide (La Mama Theater in New York), Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), University of Rochester, Art Carnuntum (Austria), Libertas (Croatia), Due Mondi (Italy), Topkapi (Istanbul), Olympic Flame Ceremony 2004 (Ancient Delphi Stadium), Marathon 2500 Years of Light (Marathon Tomb), Eugenideion Planetarium, Ancient Pella, University of Athens, Zappeion, etc.
In 2014 he presented the space project PYRAEIZON (Fire Ever-living) in honor of the legendary late astronaut Neil Armstrong, the Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, and participating world-renowned astronauts, scientists and artists such as Charles Duke, Walter Cunningham, Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, Brian May, Rick Wakeman), at the prestigious STARMUS Astronomy & Music Festival, at the famous Grande Auditorio de Tenerife in Santa Cruz, (Canary Islands, Spain), live on National Television of Spain.
In 2015 and 2018 he presented at Technopolis of Athens and at the Aristotle Theatre of Thessaloniki the International Conference of Sciences & Arts “ODYSSEY OF KNOWLEDGE” in honor of the philosopher HYPATIA, and MAKEDONIA respectively, with the participation of dozens of internationally renowned scientists and artists. They were broadcast online by the University of Athens.
In 2020, he presented the Teleseminar "Euripides-Thermopylae-Salamis, 2500 Years of Light / Fortunate is the one who knows history" with leading personalities from the fields of science and politics.
Last Spring (March 2021) he performed at the Apollo Theater (Patras, Greece), his work “200, on the Road to Freedom”, for the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire.
Selected Awards
In 1998 by the Association of Greek Professors at the University of Chicago, for his sonic approach of the Greek language and his dedication to Greek Culture.
In 2000 by the Playwrights' Preview Society in Central Park, New York, for his contribution to the theatre, alongside Olympia Doukakis and six other prominent Greek artists.
In 2005 at the Athens Concert Hall at the Excellence Ceremony for his international artistic recognition.
His lifelong devotion to the inexhaustible wealth of the timeless Greek Spirit has brought him back to his native land, the "Eternal Mother of Culture" as he calls Greece, where he can draw unlimited inspiration.
In 2002 he founded the Cultural Organization APOLLONOS NAOS (Apollo Temple) with the aim of cultivating and spreading the Timeless Greek Culture around the world.

- Θεατρικός συνθέτης και ποιητής, γεννήθηκε στην Πάτρα το 1960. Σπούδασε μουσική στο Aaron Copland της Νέας Υόρκης, έζησε δέ και εργάστηκε εκεί για 21 έτη.
- Η Aντίθεσις (AVR), τον Μάϊο του’89 ανέβηκε στα πρώτα 10 έργα της κατηγορίας "Nέα εποχή / Hλεκτρονική “μετεδίδετο δέ για χρόνια σε 42 πολιτείες των HΠA και Eυρώπη • έχει δημιουργήσει εκτενή δισκογραφία.
- Έχει συνθέσει για διασήμους γλύπτες & ζωγράφους (Σπυρόπουλος, Στάμος, Μασαάκι Νόντα), για φίλμ (Η.Π.Α., Ιταλία, Μαλαισία, Ελλάδα), για μεγάλους οργανισμούς και φεστιβάλ παγκοσμίως (La Mama της θρυλικής ‘Ελλεν Στιούαρτ στην ΝΥ, την Μουσική Ακαδημία του Μπρούκλιν (BAM), Παν/μιο Rochester, το Art Carnuntum της Αυστρίας, Libertas της Κροατίας, Due Mondi της Ιταλίας, στο Τοπ Καπί της Κων/λεως, στο Μέγαρο Αθηνών, Ζάππειον, Αρχαίο στάδιο Δελφών «Ολυμπιακή Φλόγα 2004», στον Τύμβο Μαραθωνομάχων για τα 2500 χρόνια, στο Ευγενίδειο Πλανητάριο, Αρχαία Πέλλα, στον Κήπο των Ηρώων Ι.Π. - Προσφάτως συνέθεσε το Ορατόριο «Κωστής Παλαμάς», το 1ο κατά σειρά εκ των 5 Ορατορίων Μεγάλων Ελλήνων ποιητών που συνθέτουν την «ΠΕΜΠΤΟΥΣΙΑ», ό και επαρουσίασε στο Παν/μιο Αθηνών, Φ.Σ. Παρνασσό, Πλ. Αριστοτέλους Θεσ/κης, στο Ραδιομέγαρο ΕΡΤ, στον Κήπο τών Ηρώων Ι.Π. Μεσ/γγίου, στην Αγορά Αργύρη Πατρών κ.α.
- Στις 18 Αυγούστου 2014, επαρουσίασε στον Πρωταρά του Παραλιμνίου, με θέα την Αμμόχωστο, ένα μοναδικό έργο αφιερωμένο στην πολύπαθη Κύπρο και την θυελλώδη ιστορία της για τα 40 χρόνια κατοχής και διχασμού στην μαρτυρική νήσο.
- Το «ΠΥΡΑΕΙΖΩΟΝ» για τον Ηράκλειτο, του οποίου η πρεμιέρα έγινε στην Ιταλία με την διάσημη υψίφωνο Δήμητρα Θεοδοσίου, επαρουσίασε στις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου προς τιμήν του εκλιπόντος θρυλικού Neil Armstrong, του Ρώσσου κοσμοναύτη Αλεξέι Λεόνοφ και παγκοσμίως διακεκριμένων κορυφαίων αστροναυτών (Charlie Duke, Walt Cunnigham), επιστημόνων (Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins) και καλλιτεχνών (Brian May / Queen, Rick Wakeman / Yes) παρόντων, στο αριστούργημα του αρχιτέκτονος Santiago Calatrava, το διάσημο Grand Auditorio di Tenerife στας Καναρίους Νήσους της Ισπανίας, στα πλαίσια του 2ου Φεστιβάλ Αστρονομίας και Μουσικής STARMUS, ο δημιουργός τού οποίου, αστρονόμος Garik Israelian, ανεκάλυψε πως δημιουργούνται οι Μαύρες Τρύπες.
- Τον Απρίλιο 2015 παρουσίασε στην Τεχνόπολη των Αθηνών το 1ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο «Επιστημών και Τεχνών η Οδύσσεια της Γνώσεως» προς τιμήν της Υπατίας της Αλεξανδρινής με συμμετοχή 55 διεθνώς ανεγνωρισμένων επιστημόνων και καλλιτεχνών.
- Η εφ' όρου ζωής αφοσίωσή του στον ανεξάντλητο πλούτο του διαχρονικού Ελληνικού Πνεύματος τον έφερε πίσω στην γενέτειρα χώρα του, την “Αιωνία Μήτρα του Πολιτισμού” όπως την αποκαλεί, όπου μπορεί ν’ αντλεί απεριόριστη έμπνευσι. Εδημιούργησε τον μη κερδοσκοπικού χαρακτήρος πολιτιστικό σύλλογο ¨Απόλλωνος Ναός”με σκόπο την διάδοση του Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού παγκοσμίως.
- Το έργο του “Πολίτες της Γης την Ελλάδα στηρίξτε, τους Τυράννους κτυπήστε”παρουσιάστηκε στο κρατικό ράδιο του Αμβούργου και στο κρατικό κανάλι της Εστονίας.

The Greek born composer, whose childhood dream was to become an astronaut, moved to New York in 1980 and studied classical composition at Aaron Copland School of Music.
His debut work ANTITHESIS, in May ’89, reached the US top 10 charts of New Age / Electronic music.
Since then he was commissioned to compose & perform for renowned sculptors & painters (Spyropoulos, Stamos, Masaaki Noda), for major venues and festivals around the World such as the La Mama theater of Ellen Stewart in NYC, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Rochester University, “Dei due Mondi” of Italy, Art Carnuntum of Austria, Libertas of Croatia, and in Greece at Zappeion Megaron, Athens Music Hall, Ancient Delphi Stadium “Athens 2004 Olympic Flame World Tour”, by the Tomb of the Marathon Fighters for the 2500th anniversary, in Ancient Pella for the International Marathon “Alexander the Great”, in “Promitheia” of Mount Olympus. South of Ammohostos (Famagusta) for the 40th “black anniversary” since the Turkish Invasion & Occupation of Cyprus.
He was honored by the Greek Scholars of Chicago University for his sonic interpretation of Greek language in 1998, in 2000 by Urban Stages & Playwrights Preview Society alongside actress Olympia Dukakis in Central Park of NYC “Celebrating the Heritage of Greek Theater & Art”, in Athens Music Hall (Megaron) during “Aristeia 2005”for his artistic achievement outside Greece, by the Art Club “Costis Palamas” (the poet of the Olympic Hymn) for the oratorio he composed with the great National Greek poet’s poetry.
He formed “Apollo Temple” a Non Profit Organization, dedicated in serving Apollo (Helios, the solar life-giving creative energy) and the Nine Muses (Sciences and Arts).
His passion for Astronomy, Greek Philosophy & Mythology is evident in a large number of works such as PARALLEL UNIVERSE, SPLIT INFINITY, DYNAMEIS, PANSELINOS (Full Moon), SYNASTRIA for Pythagoras’s theory “Music of the Spheres”.
PYRAEIZOON for Heraclitus’s “Fire Ever-living” theory, work premiered in Italy with soprano Dimitra Theodossiou, performed at the Eugenideion Planetarium of Athens for the Spring Equinox Celebration 2010, featured at the National University of Athens during the SEAC conference, Société Européenne pour l'Astronomie dans la Culture, September 2013. In September 2014 performed at Starmus festival.
A world tour is planned in major Planetariums during 2016, for the 2500th anniversary since Heraclitus died.
